Flyover States is the musical trio comprised of Aaron Elliott, Steven Patton, and Jessica Rose Western. Aaron and Steven met in college in Des Moines, Iowa (having both grown up first in Nebraska, hence the moniker Flyover States) and toured extensively before settling in Portland, Oregon with their band Andrew’s Ave. after coming through the Pacific Northwest on tour. While Andrew’s Ave. lets them fulfill their funk and rock ambitions, Flyover States was created to explore their folk interests, allowing for more complex vocal arrangements and dynamic harmonies.
Jessica is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from Hawaii who has been performing and recording on the west coast since 2003. Jessica and Steven (who are both board-certified music therapists) began dating and making music together in 2016. and she subsequently began playing shows with Aaron and Steven in 2017 and 2018 when In 2019, Flyover States embarked on recording their debut album which includes songs composed by all three individual members as well as joint collaborations and excursions therein.
