When people hear the words ‘blues harp’ they’re probably not thinking of the stringed version, but that’s where Bay Area based harpist, singer/songwriter EllaHarp comes in.
Armed with a degree in Scottish music from 4 years living abroad, the blues lineage of grandfather, Gordon Jenkins (who wrote the song Johnny Cash shamelessly ripped off for ‘Folsom Prison Blues’) and a unique instrument she designed for the purpose, EllaHarp is stepping out of type-cast genre constraints and doing things differently.
