Promise the Moon

Known for their intricate melodies and a passion for avoiding the traditional boundaries of genres, Promise the Moon is simultaneously the sensitive and powerful pairing of Portland-based songwriters Brance Pearson and Maggie Gibson. This duo’s collaborative original songs upon a foundation of folk and roots rock traditions are infused with a rich variety of musical influences from a life-long relationship with music. The resulting effect is something they affectionately call “heart beat folk,” a collection of songs that tell a story, lyrics and performances straight from the heart, and surprisingly playful rhythms that pay tribute to blues, rock, and pop classics.
